From social engagement and sponsorship of organizations to promoting sport and health, quality education, and sustainable communities, we prioritize making a positive impact. We believe in being an active and responsible member of society, and it is important to us to contribute to the well-being of the communities where we operate. Through our efforts, we strive to create a better future and foster a sense of unity and support within our community. Our commitment aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We specifically focus on four of the 17 goals: "No Poverty", "Good Health and Well-Being", "Quality Education”, and "Life on Land".
Social Engagement for People in Need
Social engagement for people in need is a core aspect of our corporate responsibility. We sponsor various organizations that provide support to individuals facing challenging circumstances. Some examples include the Red Cross, charities, and hospitals. Additionally, the Harald Stoess Remembrance Foundation extends financial assistance to GELITA employees and retirees during emergencies or for scholarships. Through these initiatives, we strive to make a positive impact and lend a helping hand to those who need it most.
Sport and Health
We support the well-being of our community through sponsorship of sport and health organizations. We strive to partner with diverse organizations that cater to individuals of all ages and backgrounds. By encouraging open-air activities such as running and walking, we aim to provide opportunities for everyone, including those from less privileged backgrounds. Additionally, we actively support initiatives that promote healthy eating and an active lifestyle, with a particular focus on children. Through these sponsorships, we are committed to fostering a healthier and happier community for all.
Quality Education
Supporting education and fostering a love for natural sciences and sustainability is something we are passionate about. That's why we sponsor local schools and educational organizations that encourage curiosity and enthusiasm in these fields. We also believe in the power of volunteers and support local organizations that educate children about the environment, the benefits of learning sciences, and the importance of physical education. Our commitment extends to helping disadvantaged groups access effective education through training programs, annual scholarships, and funding for educational initiatives. By sharing our curiosity and enthusiasm for natural sciences, we aim to inspire young minds.
Sustainable Communities and Life on Land
It is important to us to partner with organizations and support activities that share our commitment to preserving the environment. To incentivize environmentally friendly transportation, we encourage biking and e-mobility options for commuting to the workplace. Additionally, we organize voluntary activities for our employees, such as recycling events for unwanted electronics and initiatives where we come together to clean up community-shared spaces. Furthermore, since 2006, we have been actively involved in preserving the forest area near our Brazilian site in Mococa, with our employees planting numerous seedlings of native trees in recent years. Through these efforts, we strive to make a positive impact and create a sustainable future for generations to come.
