Photografic Gelatin

Timeless Polymer With Unmatched Reliability

Photographic gelatin remains irreplaceable in the industry, offering unparalleled stability and sensitivity. It ensures superior image quality and performance, even after over a century of technological advancements.

Photogelatin: Make it Brilliant!

Photographic gelatin is one of the most traditional polymers used in the industry. Despite over 130 years of research, synthetic products have never fully replaced gelatin in photographic applications. This versatile material is essential for use in photographic films and paper, X-rays, non-destructive testing films, microfilm, graphic film, aerial images, and holography.

Gelatin is integral to the entire photography process, including dispersion, chemical ripening, physical ripening, and topcoat applications.

During the production of silver-halogen crystals for X-ray and photographic films, gelatin acts as a stabilizer, controlling crystal growth and regulating film sensitivity. In color photography, gelatin stabilizes color emulsions. The industry relies on precise viscosity control, allowing for the simultaneous processing of up to eight layers by curtain coating.
