DELASOL® allows to produce enteric capsules that adhere to US Pharmacopeia disintegration and dissolution parameters.
- No disintegration or rupturing of the capsules in the acidic simulated gastric fluid
- The DELASOL® capsules remain intact after 1 hour (USP) and 2 hours (Ph.Eur) in the simulated gastric solution
- Fast and complete dissolution within 45 minutes required by the USP in the simulated intestinal fluid
- 0% of capsules released their fill in simulated gastric acid (representing the stomach)
- 100% of the fill remained inside all capsules
- Less than 10 minutes = average time for capsules to release when pH adjusted to represent intestinal fluids All capsules disintegrate in the pH-neutral simulated intestinal fluid much faster than the 45 minutes required by the US Pharmacopeia
