Gelatine functions as a protective colloid in the manufacture of silver-halogen crystals for x-ray- and photographic films and graphic materials. In further process steps special GELITA^® Gelatine allows crystal growth to be influenced and hence the sensitivity to be enhanced. In addition, gelatine stabilizes the coupling and color emulsions as used in color photography. Gelatine can be used to produce solidifying film layers and to adjust the viscosity of casting solutions. It is also used in artistic graphics, non-destructive testing (NDT), in holography and in ink-jet materials.
