GELITA® Gelatine for coating paper.
GELITA gelatine is ideally suited for coating paper. As a binding agent, gelatine has been proven to improve the mechanical robustness as well as the wipe- and water resistance of paper. The major advantage of gelatine coating is the significantly improved color density of all primary colors (cyan, magenta, yellow and black). This opens up completely new qualitative perspectives, especially as most matt paper on the market has poor color density.
In the case of high-end photographic paper with a gloss finish, gelatine forms a special ink-jet coating. It absorbs the solvent in the ink, fixes the dyes, prevents the colors from bleeding and protects against fading. Prints made on gelatine coatings are particularly light-fast.
GELITA technical gelatine is also used as an impregnating agent and adhesive in the paper-processing industry. Even banknotes can be rendered light-fast and stable. Technical gelatine is also extremely valuable in the laminating of larger surfaces such as games, archive files and displays.
