Gelatine is a versatile and very important ingredient for numerous pharmaceutical
products and foodstuffs. It has important applications in the areas of medicine,
health and fitness and in the manufacture of hard and soft gelatine capsules. Even
if the basic technology for capsule production is more or less standardized,
manufacturers are constantly faced with new challenges.
Producers constantly have to adapt their processes to cope with new capsule contents
that may have complex property profiles. Undesired interaction between the substances
has to be avoided.
To provide support for their customers in facing such challenges, GELITA established
its Capsule Competence Center (CCC) in 2003. Here, GELITA has concentrated its
